Description du sujet de thèse
This thesis project aims to answer the question: What is the protein composition, organization and structure of the T6SS membrane complex in Acinetobacter baumannii? The project will use an integrated, multidisciplinary approach combining membrane protein biochemistry, protein-protein interaction studies, cryo-electron microscopy and molecular biology. The aim is to understand how these proteins assemble a membrane complex and what its 3D structure is (and also determine the structure of intermediate complexes). In addition, we will seek to understand how this complex connects to other conserved complexes of the T6SS machinery (CP and TQC).
Contexte de travail
The candidate will work at the LCB. Created in 1962, the LCB is a joint research unit (UMR7283) between the CNRS and Aix Marseille University, located on the Joseph Aiguier campus within the Institut de Microbiologie de la Méditerranée. The laboratory is home to 14 teams, all studying the functioning of bacteria at molecular, cellular, multicellular and ecological levels. The candidate will work in the Virulence Nano-Macromolecular Machinosome (VN2M) team, led by Dr Eric Durand.
