Job Description
Thesis Subject
The thesis project sought to characterize a bacterial secretion system, the type 9 secretion system, with the goal fo better understand its architecture, biogenesis, dynamics and its mechanism of action. The PhD student will use approaches of biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, proximity labeling, structural biology and fluorescence microscopy.
Your Work Environment
The work will be performed in the team Cascales (https://www.cascaleslab.fr) of the Laboratoire d'Ingénierie des Systèmes Macromoléculaires (LISM). It is a joint PhD fellowship between this group and the team of Eric Reynolds (Dental School, Melbourne, Australia) and the PhD student is expected to spend a least a few months in the laboratory in Melbourne.
The applicant academic background should respond to the criteria of the doctoral schools of Aix-Marseille and Melbourne (very ggod marks in Biochemistry and Molecular BIology during Bachelor and Master degrees, at least two training periods in academic research laboratories ).
