"History and Didactics of Chemical Bonding: An Interdisciplinary Approach Combining the History of Science, Didactics, and Chemistry."
At the intersection of the history and pedagogy of chemistry, this doctoral project aims to develop innovative teaching resources for learning the concept of chemical bonding, drawing primarily on the (transnational) history of chemical bonding models, but also on recent developments in theoretical chemistry research.
Your Work Environment
The doctoral position will be based at the SPHERE laboratory, UMR 7219, CNRS, Université Paris Cité, which specializes in the history and philosophy of science.
The doctoral program is funded under the CNRS's 80PRIME 2026 initiative (Mission for Transversal and Interdisciplinary Initiatives) starting October 1, 2026, for a duration of three years.
Constraints and risks
The candidate must have a strong background in the history of science (Master's level) and chemistry (Bachelor's level). Skills in didactics of science are a plus.
