Description du sujet de thèse
The project KOGIT aims at designing, fabricating, analyzing experimentally and studying theoretically a novel three-dimensional (3D) source for optical frequency combs (OFCs) generation using a mature semiconductor AlGaAs-based vertical technology of
high crystal quality. Our approach consists in designing an optically-injected vertical-emission Kerr Gires-Tournois Interferometer (KGTI) integrated in a compact free-space and self-imaging external cavity. The project aims at generating multiple, reconfigurable and spatially independent OFCs via the integration of 2D metasurfaces in the KGTI to control the transverse multiplexed light beam properties.
Contexte de travail
The experimental work carried out by the PhD student will take place at INPHYNI. This research project is an international collaboration funded by the ANR. It involves the Institut d'Electronique et des Systèmes (IES) of Montpellier for the experimental part, and a theoretical partner form the University of Münster in Germany. In the frame of the project, the student will frequently interact with both partners. The devices that are developed in the frame of the project will be fabricated by the staff of the Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies (C2N) at Palaiseau.
