Job Description
Thesis Subject
Generation of quantum light in a cold atomic cloud
Your Work Environment
The PhD project aims to investigate the emergence of quantum properties of light through its interaction with large ensembles of cold atoms. In particular, it will explore the generation of nonclassical photon correlations in atomic clouds where light undergoes multiple scattering and atoms interact collectively. The experimental work, to be carried out at the Institut de Physique de Nice, will rely on a dedicated setup to measure photon correlations in transmitted light. The objectives are to characterize and control multiple scattering, demonstrate photon antibunching, and investigate how photon statistics can be controlled by tuning the system parameters. At the interface between fundamental physics and quantum technologies, this research could open new perspectives for the generation of nonclassical light sources.
