Job Description
Thesis Subject
Antimony selenide (Sb₂Se₃) is a promising semiconductor for photovoltaic applications due to its low toxicity, abundance, and excellent optoelectronic properties. However, its performance is still limited by intrinsic defects, band misalignment, and interfaces with buffer layers. This PhD project aims to combine theoretical modeling and experimental collaborations to predict and optimize the electronic and photovoltaic properties of Sb₂Se₃. The objective is to propose strategies involving S/Se substitution, defect engineering, and the selection of suitable buffer layers to achieve an optimal material prior to its synthesis and experimental characterization. This PhD position is funded within the framework of the ANR SOLART project.
Profile sought:
Master's degree in physics, chemistry, theoretical chemistry, materials science, or an equivalent field.
Strong background in atomistic modeling (DFT, CRYSTAL, VASP, or equivalent).
Interest in photovoltaic materials and the interface between theory and experimentation.
Autonomy, curiosity, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Your Work Environment
