Job Description
Thesis Subject
The Ph.D. candidate, who must hold a degree in chemical engineering or a Master's 2 in research in chemistry, will focus on the eco-efficient production of new agro-sourced ingredients for cosmetics via metal-catalyzed carbon-carbon coupling reactions. The research will involve developing new, efficient, and environmentally responsible synthetic routes; designing new, highly selective, and productive metal complexes; optimizing targeted catalytic reactions; and scaling up the production of target molecules. Main Activities: - Synthesis of various ligands and organometallic complexes - Evaluation of (photo)catalysis - Synthesis of new agro-sourced ingredients for cosmetics Required Skills: - Excellent skills in organic synthesis and organometallic catalysis - Proven experience in the synthesis of ligands and organometallic complexes (handling under inert atmosphere, Schlenk technique, glove box) - Proven experience with analytical methods (NMR, MS, HPLC, GC) - Very good command of English (reading, speaking, and writing) - Proven skills in scientific writing (reports, articles, etc.) - Team player with a collaborative mindset
Your Work Environment
The research work will be carried out at the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences, within the "Organometallics: Materials and Catalysis" (OMC) team located at ENSC Rennes, under the supervision of Dr. Marc MAUDUIT.
