Description du sujet de thèse
Based on the preliminary results established by the host team and their collaborators in wireless bioelectronics1–3, the goal of this project is to design a wireless architecture and RF circuits that enable backscattering-based wireless biosensing using organic electrochemical transistors as sensing platforms. The researcher will be responsible for:
o Architectural study of a passive backscatter communication system tailored for implantable biosensors.
o RF circuit design to efficiently encode and transmit biosensing data based on OECT voltage variations.
o Integration strategy for future IC implementation, ensuring feasibility and scalability.
o Collaboration with project partners developing the OECT-based biosensor to align system specifications and requirements.
Candidate Profile
We seek a highly motivated candidate with:
o Expertise in passive backscattering sensing, RF circuits, RFID technologies, and IoT communication.
o Knowledge of implantable bioelectronics is a strong plus but is not required.
o Experience with IC design and system integration is desirable.
o Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
o M.Sc. or equivalent degree is required for the doctoral position, and Ph.D. is required for the postdoc position.
o Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to drive research in an emerging field.
o Proven skills in scientific writing and publication.
Contexte de travail
We are looking for a highly motivated researchers to join our team at IETR Laboratory, CNRS, Rennes, France for a fully funded PhD (3 year) and a postdoctoral (1 year, can be extended up to 3 years) positions, depending on the experience. The project is supported by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and involves close collaboration with EPFL and IMS Bordeaux. Our research focuses on developing passive implantable biosensors that use backscattering to wirelessly transmit sensing data. The researcher will work in a stimulating and highly collaborative environment, alongside experts from an ERC-funded project in wireless bioelectronics.
