Description of the thesis topic

This PhD stems from the ANR project ArchR. The specific objectives of this PhD project will be to measure and understand:
1- how the genomic architectures of the adaptive mutations impact their fitness and dynamics in natural populations, providing new insights in the early evolution of gene duplications;
2- how the architecture of the adaptive mutations impacts the dynamics of genome polymorphism, assessing the dynamics of the neutral diversity in response to variations in environmental conditions and their impact on resistance allele frequencies and population demography over 30+ years.

Work Context

The PhD student will be hosted at ISEM, where he/she will benefit from a stimulating scientific environment and all the necessary infrastructures for the project. He/she will also be able to gain teaching experience, and will participate in at least 2 international congresses to present his/her results. Funding is already secured, most of the genomics resources are already available or partially funded.
