Description du sujet de thèse

This PhD project aims to design a personalized recommendation system for physical activity tailored to older adults. The objective is to provide individualized exercise programs based on users' physical capacities, preferences, environment, and feedback (e.g., perceived exertion, fatigue), ensuring safe progression while improving adherence and the effectiveness of home-based physical activity.
The algorithm will combine personalized, adaptive (evolving over time), and collaborative (learning from users with similar profiles) features. The project is interdisciplinary, at the intersection of computer sciences (AI, recommender systems) and exercise physiology.

Candidate Profile
The candidate will preferably hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science. Applications from students with a Master in Sports Science (STAPS) and strong skills in programming or algorithms will also be considered. The candidate is expected to show a strong interest in sport, adapted physical activity, and/or health. French language skills are not mandatory, but the candidate must be willing to learn French. In any case, the ability to communicate in English is required.

In addition to your application on the job portal (including a detailed CV and a cover letter), please make sure to email the following documents directly to both PhD supervisors:
- your academic transcripts (BSc, MSc),
- a copy of the Master's thesis (or equivalent),
- the contact information of two academic referees who might be contacted by the supervisors.
Optional:
