Description of the thesis topic

The induction of a protective immune response at the respiratory tract remains one of the main challenges in the vaccine field. The emergence and success of messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines allowed the perspective of improvement of the induced response efficacy of such vaccines at the respiratory virus entry doors by new mucosal strategies for the delivery of mRNA. To reach this objective, the PhD candidate will develop a new generation of nanoparticles composed of lipids and polymers able to protect and pack mRNA. The candidate will then evaluate their biodistribution and efficacy against several viruses.

Work Context

The thesis project will take place in the team 'Colloidal vectors and targeted therapeutic engineering', jointly led by Bernard Verrier and Claire Monge
