Description of the thesis topic

Within the framework of the GPR memory contract, the PhD student recruited will explore the mechanisms underlying the stability of connectivity between engram cells. The objective of this thesis is to study the evolution of connectivity between engram cells during consolidation and to evaluate the role of NMDAR mobility in memory stabilization.
Activities: behavioral approaches, stereotactic surgery, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy.

Work Context

This thesis will be carried out in cotutelle between the teams "Physiopathology of the declarative memory of the Neurocentre Magendie" and "Developmental Brain Physiology and Pathology" of the IINS. These teams have the material resources (own equipment and platforms) and financial resources necessary for the realization of the thesis.
The student will be directly supervised by the thesis directors (Sophie Tronel and Olivier Nicole). The student will follow the training necessary for the realization of the experiments (animal experimentation and surgery; training on the BIC equipment) as well as those necessary for the thesis research (seminars, etc).
