Description of the thesis topic
This project aims to establish a rational strategy based on simulations multi-scale to increase the life of positive electrode materials for Cobalt-poor Li / Na-ion batteries. Indeed, the mechanical stresses induced during the successive electrochemical cycles lead to a degradation of the electrode materials and particularly those poor in Cobalt.
This thesis is funded by the French Network of Electrochemical Energy Storage (RS2E) and will mainly take place at the Charles Gerhardt Montpellier Institute (ICGM) in collaboration with CIRIMAT (Toulouse).
Constraints and risks
The work will be mainly theoretical.
