Description of the thesis topic
The NMR group at the Institut de Chimie et de Biologie des Membranes et des Nanoobjets in Pessac is looking for a motivated candidate for PhD funding to work on an ANR-funded project in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy of cells. The project aims to characterize the molecular components of intact cells.
Work Context
The Institute for Chemistry and Biology of Membranes and Nano-objects is a multidisciplinary institute at the interface between physics, chemistry and biology. It is home to 15 research teams and a large number of structural biophysics platforms (NMR, X-ray diffraction, mass spectrometry, electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, etc.). The PhD student's work will involve studying these systems using NMR and other structural biology techniques, and will be carried out in the “NMR of membranes and protein assemblies” team. The team has access to NMR spectrometers ranging from 300 to 800 MHz, equipped with solid-state NMR probes.
