Description of the thesis topic

The PhD student will participate in the implementation of a numerical strategy for the simplified modelling of platelet dynamics and adhesion to different wall shapes. He or she will carry out numerical simulations to complement the experimental analyses carried out at the Institute of Applied Medical Engineering of the University of Aachen and will participate in the cross-analysis of the results obtained. Finally, he or she will propose a macroscopic approach that can be used for the numerical study of the thrombogenicity of biomedical systems used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Work Context

The work will be carried out at IMAG, a joint research unit between CNRS and University of Montpellier. The candidate will be part of the YALSES2BIO team of 6 to 8 people, including 2 permanent staff.
