Description of the thesis topic

-The project entitled « BabyMuse: Language and Music» is consortium between two CNRS Units in Grenoble: LPNC (UMR 5105, Olivier Pascalis, Mathilde Fort) and GIPSA-lab (UMR 5216, Anne Vilain). It is funded by Action Transversale Inégalités Educatives of the CNRS. The goal of this project is to explore the role of regular musical exposure on the development of language and executive functions in 2-3 year-olds from poor social economic background.
The post-doc will be in charge of data collections and analysis and will participate in the dissemination of the results.

Work Context

The Laboratory of Psychology and NeuroCognition (LPNC) is a Cognitive Science Research Unit affiliated to the CNRS (National Institute of Biological Sciences, section 26, Language Sciences, section 34) and to two universities (University Grenoble-Alpes, Grenoble and University of Savoie Mont Blanc, Chambery). This laboratory has an interdisciplinary approach of cognition, which encompasses experimental psychology; computational and mathematical modeling; neuropsychology; cognitive psychiatry; and neuroimaging. The candidate will be part of the developmental team and will be co-supervised by Olivier Pascalis, Anne Vilain and Mathilde Fort.

Additional Information

Experience with behavioural studies in cognitive and/or developmental psychology and or/neuropsychology. An experience with theoretical model of speech perception/language development would be a plus. Being fluent in French is a plus.
