Job Description

Thesis Subject

Modelling of cell migration in 3D without adhesion

Your Work Environment

We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified Master 2 (or equivalent) student with a background in soft matter or theoretical biophysics to carry out a PhD thesis in the "Physical Approaches to Biological Problems" team (https://institut-curie.org/team/sens). This theoretical research project aims to explore the self-organization of active mechanical stresses involved in cell migration within complex three-dimensional environments such as extracellular matrices. The selected candidate will play a key role in understanding cell migration, particularly in the absence of adhesion, by combining analytical and numerical approaches. They will join an international consortium bringing together biologists and physicists, supported by European funding (ERC-Synergy).
