Job Description

Thesis Subject

This research is part of the ANR-MAESTROS project (Multi-sensoring for the Assessment of Existing STRuctures and OptimizationS), specifically within the tasks dedicated to improving the reliability of corrosion diagnosis in reinforced concrete by combining non-destructive testing and monitoring.
The objectives of the thesis will be:
- to study the initiation, propagation, and cracking phases induced by reinforcement corrosion in concrete in the two environments considered (chloride pollution/carbonation), taking into account the type of cement used;
- to improve the reliability of corrosion diagnosis by integrating a coupled approach combining instant non-destructive testing with continuous monitoring using sensors (ACP data processing, AI, etc.),
- and to propose an “alert tool” based on the established reliability-based approach.

Your Work Environment

The doctoral student will be based primarily at the Gustave-Eiffel University campus (EMGCU laboratory), under the supervision of Véronique Bouteiller, but may be required to work at the LRMH campus within the Concrete research department. In both cases, the student will have access to the laboratory's resources (administrative, experimental, etc.). The student will also be required to travel and organize its missions.

Constraints and risks

Work in the laboratory and in the field (particularly at the Univ-Eiffel research site in Champs-sur-Marne and at the CESE site in Paris). Occasional travel within France and internationally (for conferences).
