Description du sujet de thèse
This PhD offer is part of the i-demo OCEA project, aiming to implement an electromagnetic non-destructive testing device for high-value-added steels. The PhD offer specifically focuses on the interface between the measured electrical quantities and the sought-after magnetic properties. From these magnetic properties, target information (integrity status, mechanical stress, hardness, etc.) is indirectly derived. The idea for the future doctoral candidate is to develop a numerical/theoretical tool that links the measured signals to the target properties. Several axes are conceivable:
_ An axis around the modeling of magnetic properties and the relationship between the measured electrical quantities and the physical properties to be observed.
_ An axis around information processing (correlation law, regression, etc.).
_ An instrumentation axis (magnetic measurement).
Contexte de travail
This joint PhD offer between INSA Lyon (France) and Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan) is part of the i-demo OCEA project, focusing on developing a non-destructive testing device for high-value-added ferromagnetic steels. The future doctoral candidate will spend at least 1 year at each institution in the form of multiple stays supported by the laboratory.
