Missions

Development of 3D Microphysiological Systems

Activities

The European HOLIFAB project aims to develop additive manufacturing methods and improve the performance of current systems in terms of resolution, manufacturing speed and adaptability to biocompatible materials.
A first example of application concerns the field of labs on a chip for which 3D manufacturing technologies should allow significant gains for the integration and implementation of new functionalities in devices dedicated to sample preparation, analysis and diagnosis. A second example of application is the one of bioprinting that offers a new paradigm for the fabrication of in vitro models fadapted to cell culture. Within the framework of the European project HOLIFAB, we propose to focus our efforts on combination of these two technologies for the manufacturing of microphysiological systems (MPS) that will provide in vitro models of living tissues for application in the field of cancer diagnosis and regenerative medicine.

Skills

Skills in microfluidics, micro and nanofabrication and 3D printing are required for this position. Skills in the field of biophysics and cell biology will be strongly appreciated.

Work Context

This project will be carried out in collaboration with the Fluigent company (coordinator of the HOLIFAB project) and Institut Curie - UMR 168 .
