Job Description
Missions
The newly recruited young researcher will be responsible for advancing the TRL (Technology Readiness Level) of a measurement instrument that determines eye length using an optical reinjection interferometric method.
They will develop the laser model under optical reinjection for this specific application, propose a protocol for evaluating the instrument's performance, and suggest solutions to improve these performances. They will also be tasked with developing an experimental system to enable this evaluation and will lead the measurement campaigns.
Activity
- Laser modeling under optical feedback for simultaneous multiple distance measurement
- Design of a protocol and performance evaluation metric
- Design of a measurement bench
- Implementation of an experimental campaign
Your Profil
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of semiconductor lasers
- Advanced skills in metrology
- Experimental skills in optical characterization
- Knowledge of signal and data processing methods
Your Work Environment
- A compact instrument prototype for measuring the eye's axial length
- A measurement protocol for this axial length
- A method for evaluating the instrument's performance
Constraints and risks
The work is carried out at LAAS-CNRS within the OASIS team and as part of the joint OPALE laboratory with Essilor Luxottica. It builds upon Alexis Loupias's PhD thesis, which conducted the first studies on this new concept for measuring eye length.
