We are recruiting a researcher to lead a valorisation project in the field of biosourced materials. This project aimed at increasing the technology readiness of an innovation, in order to prepare its commercial exploitation, in the framework of the creation of a startup.
This innovation from chemistry and material science, belongs to a thematic of sustainable development and biomass exploitation as an alternative to oil-based compounds.
The researcher will manage the maturation plan of the technology, by developing technological aspects and exploring the commercial potential of the innovation.
The researcher will set an optimisation plan of the technology in order to develop its production and to prepare its upscaling. The products and samples will be characterized chemically with different methods (IR, NMR, and titration). Their properties will be tested mechanically and structurally thanks to developed protocols (tensile tests, microscopy, DSC). The researcher will realize the demonstrators of the innovation from the lab to the industrial scale.
In collaboration with the partners of the project, the researcher will synthetize information and data on the targeted markets, and will look forward the needs of the prospects. He will ensure their follow-up, and manage the feasibility studies set up and realization.
For both of these missions, the researcher might have to manage and supervise the communication and exchanges with service providers, partners and industrials prospects.
The researcher should have an initial formation in material science, preferably in chemistry or physical chemistry of polymers, and be familiar with common characterization and experimental methods. The profile of the candidate is a doctor in polymer or material science with a strong interest in innovation and curiosity for entrepreneurship.
The researcher should have good communication skills to ensure the exchanges with prospects and partners. A great organization sense and some project management skills are also required to lead the project independently.
This project will be led in the Centre de Recherche sur les Macromolecules Végétales (Cermav) from the French national research institute (CNRS). It will be hosted in the team “Structure and Properties of Glycomaterials”, as the in-creation start-up.
The project will be followed and assisted by innovation actors, who will provide valuable guidance and advices in the project management and strategy. The researcher can also count on the implication of the technical centre of this domain, both for technological and market knowledge.
The researcher will be accompanied as well by the start-up project team that will share its experience, network and skills.
