Job Description
Missions
The Center for Molecular Biophysics from CNRS is seeking a researcher specialized in skin biology. He/She will participate in a collaborative project with a local startup focused on studying the specific characteristics of skins with V and VI phototypes. He/She will be responsible for leading the project, including the development of omics analyses, in vitro/ex vivo experiments, the validation of the results and their valorization
Activity
- Develop experimental designs to carry out this project, in consultation with project leaders
- Develop and optimize molecular and cellular analyses of relevant biomarkers
- Develop and optimize cell/tissue analyses (immunofluorescence, histology) and their quantification via image analysis
- Participate in meetings and strategic discussions regarding the project's progress with other participants, group members, or external collaborators
- Manage interactions with external partners and service providers and ensure the operational oversight of the project
- Analyse and present the results
- Write publications
- Present the results at conferences
- Disseminate and promote the results
- Keep up to date with the field's literature—scientific and technological monitoring—
- Follow the health and safety guidelines
Your Profil
Skills
- Have a strong understanding of skin biology
- Be proficient in cell culture techniques and working in a Class 2 biosafety laboratory
- Have experience with 2D and 3D skin cell cultures
- Be proficient in histology, fluorescence microscopy, and image analysis techniques
- Be proficient in biochemistry and molecular biology techniques: ELISA, qPCR, Western blot
- Knowledge of and experience with bioinformatics and omics analysis
- Ability to ensure the traceability of processed data and the reproducibility of analyses performed
- Be familiar with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Possess strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently
- Be able to present scientific results both in writing and orally
- Be able to write scientific articles
- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Be rigorous, curious, and motivated to tackle scientific challenges
- Have an interest in project management
Your Work Environment
The CBM (UPR 4301 CNRS) is a CNRS unit with 140 staff members. Several research groups work at the intersection of physics, biology, and chemistry. The researcher will join the “Skin Biology and Microenvironment” group and report directly to the team leader. He/She will interact with other group members (researchers, technical staff, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral students), as well as external partners. The researcher will have access to the MO2VING platform's state-of-the-art histology, cytometry, and cellular imaging equipment.
Work hours: 38.5 hours per week, 44 days of annual leave, access to an on-site staff cafeteria, 75% employer contribution toward public transportation passes, a sustainable mobility allowance, sports activities organized by the local social action committee, an on-campus recreational center, and more.
Constraints and risks
Work in L1 and L2 containment culture rooms. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for cell culture. Travel to meetings with other project partners may be required
