Missions
The EPM assists the Scientific Coordinator in the coordination of a European project, financed by the Horizon Europe Programme as part of the Marie Curie "Doctoral Networks" call for proposals: Melomanes (https://melomanes.eu/). His/her role is to ensure the animation of the consortium and to facilitate its general functioning in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement and the consortium agreement. The EPM's role covers a range of tasks related to the organisational, administrative, and legal management of the project. He/she will be localized in the Laboratory of “Immunology, Immunopathology and Therapeutic Chemistry”, based in Strasbourg (France), in particular in the Team “Therapeutic multifunctional carbon and 2D nanomaterials”.
Activities
Main tasks
- Assist the Scientific Coordinator in supervising the implementation of the project and monitoring of the work plan
- Develop and implement management tools necessary for project management (such as procedures, guides, standard document templates, collaborative platforms, updating the website, etc.)
- Prepare consortium meetings and write the minutes
- Participate in the elaboration of some deliverables (data management plan, communication plan, etc.)
- Lead the consortium and facilitate exchanges between partners
- Implement internal communication actions (dissemination of information, animation of the collaborative platform, etc.) and external communication actions (writing press releases, content for the website, etc.)
- Act as an intermediary between the European Commission and the consortium
- Raise partners' awareness on the dissemination of results, on gender equality, on science/society link and on environmental aspects
- Coordinate the organisation of events related to the project (training activities, secondments in other laboratories, workshops, conferences, etc.)
Administrative management
In close collaboration with the Europe Department of the "Service Partenariat & Valorisation" (SPV) of the Alsace Delegation of the CNRS
- Assist the partners on the administrative aspects of the project, make sure the rules and administrative procedures specific to Horizon Europe are followed.
- Monitor the production of deliverables and participate in the writing of progress reports
Financial Management
In close collaboration with the Europe Department of SPV
- Monitor expenditures (updating and monitoring of the budget, internal financial balance, etc.)
Legal follow-up
In close collaboration with the Europe Department of SPV
- Ensure compliance with the obligations outlined in the grant agreement and consortium agreement
- Monitor and update (amendments) contractual documents
Skills
Education and skills
- Master or equivalent, including training in European project management
- Good knowledge of the European Commission's management rules for the Horizon Europe programme
- Good knowledge in administrative management
- Highly proficiency in written and spoken English (language of communication within the consortium)
- Knowledge and good practice of project management tools (spreadsheets, planning tools, etc.)
Attitude
- Great sense of thoroughness and organisation
- Dynamism, reactivity and autonomy
- Ability to work with a team and in an intercultural environment (diplomacy)
- Writing skills in English and ability to summarize are essential (B2 level).
- A good knowledge of French is an asset.
- Knowledge of communication methods and experience in the organization of events would be appreciated.
- Experience in leading European and/or international projects and scientific knowledge in one or the other field would be an asset.
Work Context
The Alsace Delegation of the CNRS is recruiting a European Project Manager (EPM) to ensure the implementation and monitoring of the project.
Melomanes is a European research training network coordinated by Dr. Cécilia Ménard Moyon. This project funds 12 thesis grants on the development of a combined therapy mediated by magnetic nanoparticles for the treatment of metastatic melanoma.
The consortium is composed of 23 partners from 10 European countries.
The candidate will be integrated in the
Laboratory of “Immunology, Immunopathology and Therapeutic Chemistry” (CNRS UPR3572) at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology in Strasbourg (France), in particular in the Team “Therapeutic multifunctional carbon and 2D nanomaterials” (led by Dr Alberto Bianco), under the supervision of Dr Cécilia Ménard-Moyon. The research unit has unique, internationally recognized expertise on autoimmune diseases and nanomedicine, particularly on the development of carbon and two-dimensional nanomaterials for biomedical applications and the evaluation of their potential potential toxicity.
- The contract is due to start on November 1st 2025.
