Job Description
Missions
At the Futuroscope site of Institut Pprime the CNRS is recruiting a Researcher within the framework of the SALSA project (funded by the DGAC and coordinated by Airbus).
The successful candidate will collaborate with Airbus researchers and with the 2AT team at Institut Pprime to develop an innovative jet-noise prediction tool.
Activity
The researcher will develop a novel jet-noise prediction tool based on a resolvent analysis of the Navier–Stokes operator linearised about the turbulent jet mean flow. The tool, designed to account for the decorrelating effects of turbulence, will first be validated on axisymmetric jets and subsequently applied to jet configurations distorted by installation effects on aircraft. Windtunnel testing will be undertaken for final validation.
Your Profil
Skills
The researcher should have the following skills:
- demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills,
- be strongly motivated for high-impact applied research,
- a high degree of autonomy and creativity in problem-solving,
- openness to collaboration with industrial partners (Airbus) and have a strong interest in aerospace modelling projects.
The candidate must hold a PhD in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or a related field.
The candidate must demonstrated experience in numerical simulation in fluid mechanics and/or aeroacoustics; strong expertise in linear algebra and signal processing.
Your Work Environment
UPR 3346, Pprime Institute, is a CNRS unit under a specific agreement with the University of Poitiers and ISAE-ENSMA (partners).
It has around 600 staff: 200 EC, 40 researchers, 100 IT, 180 PhD students and 40 fixed-term contract staff. The research work will be carried out within the D2-FTC department, Fluids, Thermal and Combustion, which corresponds to a continuum ranging from fluid mechanics, inert, anisothermal and reactive fluids, to effects related to complementary physical properties of thermal, combustion and detonation.
