At the CNRS-Laboratory Pprime, based at the Futuroscope, this post-doctorate position will be the elaboration of an experimental study of the interaction between a turbulent jet and a wing profile. Analysis and modeling of the phenomenon via linearisation of the Navier Stokes equations about the mean field.
The objective of the study will be to analyse and model the interaction between a turbulent jet and a wing profile where the jet is strongly deformed by the wing. We will be particularly interested in coherent flow structures and their sound radiation. Measurements will be carried out by microphone antennae and by PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry). Post-processing of the data will include decomposition by SPOD (Spectral Proper Orthogonal Decomposition). Analysis and modelling of the flow will be underpinned by a linearisation of the Navier-Stokes equations about the mean field. An acoustic analogy will be used to understand sound radiation.
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in fluid mechanics and have the following knowledge of:
- fluid mechanics,
- and linear stability.
The UPR 3346 "Institut Pprime" created on January 1, 2010 depends on the INSIS at the CNRS as operator; the INP is a secondary institute. A specific agreement recognizes the three institutions, CNRS (supervision), University of Poitiers and ISAE-ENSMA (partners). The staff is around 600 : 200 EC, 40 researchers, 100 ITA/IATOS, 180 PhD students and 40 fixed-term contracts.
