Missions

Based at the LNCMI and in close collaboration with the other EMFL sites, you are in charge of bridging the gap between the EMFL and industry.

Activities

Based at the LNCMI and in close collaboration with the other EMFL sites, you are in charge of bridging the gap between the EMFL and industry. In this context, you will

Raise awareness in industry about the scientific possibilities within the EMFL and the associated technical developments, by writing articles for the industry press, by participating in events (salons, conferences, etc), by animating the EMFL Industrial Club in order to identify industry's needs, and by maintaining a dedicated website and social media accounts

Actively establish, maintain and develop relations between the EMFL and European industry, by identifying EMFL activities that could be exploited, by identifying companies potentially interested in such activities and by establishing and managing industrial contracts

Skills

Bac +5/Master or equivalent, with training in project management and communication, preferably with some knowledge in physics or materials science.
You have excellent communication skills and are strongly motivated by applied, industrial research. You also have a strong project management background that will allow you to efficiently organize and execute the EMFL industrial relations development within the ISABEL project.

The international character of the ISABEL project means we welcome candidates from outside of France. A very good level of English is mandatory, a good level of French is a plus.

Work Context

The Laboratoire National des Champs Magnétiques Intenses (LNCMI), with sites in Grenoble and in Toulouse, is part of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and is the European leader in high magnetic fields. The LNCMI hosts each year more than a hundred international scientific users who come to realize high level experiments. The LNCMI proposes also access for industrial users for innovative characterizations (UV-VIS-NIR-THz spectroscopy, NMR, EPR, magnetization, magneto-transport…) in high magnetic fields. It develops the applications of its research and its associated technical developments through industrial partnerships.

The LNCMI is part of the European Magnetic Field Laboratory (EMFL), together with the Hochfeld Magnetlabor Dresden and the High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Nijmegen. The H2020 project 'Improving the sustainability of the EMFL' (ISABEL), coordinated by the LNCMI, aims at attracting more industrial users to the EMFL sites and to promote the use of high magnetic fields by industry. The LNCMI is hiring for this project a Industrial liaisons officer (M/F)

Constraints and risks

The position will be opened starting March 1st 2023, with a 12 months contract, renewable, based at the LNCMI-Toulouse. You will work under the responsibility of the ISABEL project leader, in close collaboration with the industrial development staff at the EMFL sites and their host institutions. The position requires frequent travelling within Europe. Salary according to experience, in the scale of Ingénieurs d'Etudes CNRS.
