Job Description
Missions
The successful candidate will join funded projects focusing on the cellular circuits underlying the neuropeptidergic regulation of emotions, led by Dr. Alexandre Charlet. Our current research interest lies in the modulation of neuron-glia interactions by oxytocin, opening up innovative avenues for research into emotions and related disorders. The postdoctoral researcher will integrate into the project and the team, employing approaches in photonic imaging and patch-clamp electrophysiology.
Activity
The postdoctoral fellow will contribute in particular to different aspects:
- in vivo calcium imaging (ex vivo imaging approaches and patch-clamp electrophysiology)
- developing new hypotheses and approaches,
- integrating new tools,
- supervising a doctoral student,
- writing scientific articles.
Your Profil
Skills
Education:
- PhD in cell biology, neurobiology, or a related field. Candidates with prior postdoctoral experience validated by a high-level publication are preferred.
- Strong expertise in in vivo (miniscope or photometry) or ex vivo (spinning disk or 2P) calcium imaging.
Language: Fluency in English, with strong written and oral communication skills required.
Additional skills:
- Python programming, ex vivo patch-clamp, or molecular biology.
Professional skills:
- Ability to work independently and initiate new research directions.
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and scientific communication skills.
- Rigor and organization in conducting experiments.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent communication
- Autonomy in project management.
Your Work Environment
The successful candidate will join the Institute of Cellular and Integrative Neurosciences (INCI) in Strasbourg, a CNRS research unit of approximately 140 people, within the "Peptidergic Control of Emotions" team led by Dr. Alexandre Charlet. For several years, our laboratory has been developing a strong research focus on neuron-glia interactions, with a particular interest in the role of astrocytes in the neuropeptidergic modulation of emotions.
It is part of a dynamic trinational network including French, German, and Swiss laboratories.
This exceptional location in the heart of Europe offers an ideal environment for young scientists through technical and theoretical training. The site is situated in a green setting, in the heart of the Strasbourg university campus and is easily accessible by public transport.
The candidate (male/female) will have access to a nearby staff restaurant at a subsidized rate. Annual leave and time off in lieu (RTT) are 44 days.
