Missions

The successful candidate will lead a research project aimed at understanding information integration mechanisms in cerebellar nuclei. Responsibilities include:

Conducting in vivo calcium imaging and in vitro electrophysiology experiments
Developing and implementing behavioral analysis protocols
Analyzing and interpreting experimental data
Contributing to the publication of results in international journals
Participating in team member training

Activités

Main Activities:

Performing stereotaxic surgery on mice
Setting up and conducting in vivo calcium imaging experiments
Carrying out electrophysiological recordings with optogenetic stimulation
Developing and implementing behavioral protocols
Analyzing imaging and electrophysiology data
Programming analysis tools (Python/Matlab)

Associated Activities:

Participating in team meetings and seminars
Presenting results at conferences
Writing scientific articles
Contributing to the technical supervision of training personnel

Compétences

Knowledge:

PhD in Neuroscience or related field
Advanced knowledge in neurophysiology
Skills in vivo calcium imaging or In vivo electrophysiology, and in vitro patch clamp techniques
Expertise in neuroscientific data analysis

Technical Skills:

Proven experience in mouse stereotaxic surgery
Proficiency in Python and/or Matlab
Experience in behavioral analysis
Ability to develop data analysis scripts

Personal Skills:

Rigorous and organized approach to experiments
Strong teamwork abilities
Excellent communication skills in English (minimum B2 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; French is a plus)
Independent project management capabilities

Contexte de travail

The position is based at the Institute of Cellular and Integrative Neurosciences (INCI, Strasbourg), UPR 3212 CNRS. The institute comprises 11 teams (120 staff including 48 researchers) and features state-of-the-art imaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral facilities.
The "Neural Network Physiology" team studies information integration mechanisms in neural networks, particularly in motor control structures. The work will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Antoine Valera, as part of the ERC Cerecode project.
