Job Description
Missions
At the CNRS, within the CEMHTI laboratory (Extreme Conditions and Materials: High Temperature and Irradiation) in Orléans, the DEFIR team – "Defaults, Impurities and Radiotracers" – of the CEMHTI-CNRS laboratory (UPR 3079) is recruiting a researcher in the field of physicochemical characterization of materials. Within the framework of the LEAP-SE 'REMIX-3P' project, the researcher will be responsible for optimizing the operation of photovoltaic and thermoelectric structures in a sub-Saharan environment and for carrying out the physicochemical characterization of new materials.:
Activity
Drawing on a strong understanding of photovoltaic technology, the researcher will develop solutions to optimize their operation in the Beninese environment. The introduction of new generations, such as perovskite-based cells, will also be studied. The researcher will test and optimize thermoelectricity coupled with other renewable energy sources. A significant part of their work will consist of the characterization, using physicochemical techniques, of materials, including local materials (from Benin).
Your Profil
Skills
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong expertise in the photovoltaic field: excellent fundamental knowledge, elaboration skills and technological expertise. The candidate must also possess strong expertise in materials characterization: XRD, XRF, Raman, UV-Vis, FTIR, SEM, TEM, AFM, profilometry, electrical measurements, etc. A good understanding of thermoelectricity would be an asset.
Your Work Environment
CEMHTI is a CNRS research unit spread across two nearby sites (High Temperature and Cyclotron) and comprising approximately 100 people. The laboratory develops original expertise and tools at the national and international levels, particularly for studying the physicochemical properties of materials under extreme conditions in situ. The Researcher will be based at the cyclotron site and will join the DEFIR team, working within the framework of the ANR LEAP-SE REMIX-3P project in collaboration with the other project partners. Field trips (Benin) are planned. The application deadline is April 13, 2026.
