Missions

The candidate will work at the CNRS-ICARE laboratory, where they will operate a jet-stirred reactor and analytical systems (gas and liquid chromatography, infrared).
The candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Conduct oxidation experiments;
- Measure oxidation products using gas and liquid chromatography, infrared;
- Analyze results;
- Write experimental reports and a final report.

Skills

The candidate must have the following skills:
Know-how:
- Solid knowledge of chemical combustion kinetics and analytical chemistry (chromatography and infrared)
- Ability to work in a team
Interpersonal skills:
- Have a good understanding of the development and conduct of tests in jet-stirred reactors, ideally with experience in chemical kinetics of combustion
- A solid understanding of physical chemistry as well as the safety conditions to be observed during oxidation experiments and chemical analyses.

Work Context

At the CNRS, in the ICARE UPR3021 laboratory located on the CNRS campus in Orléans, the candidate will join the OH (Oxidation of Hydrocarbons) team and et will mainly perform combustion experiments on terpenes and model fuels in the laboratory ICARE-CNRS (Institute of Combustion, Aerothermics, Reactivity and Environment).
ICARE is a CNRS unit attached to the Engineering Department, whose main research topics are Combustion and Reactive Systems, the Atmosphere and the Environment, as well as Space Propulsion and Atmospheric Re-entry. The laboratory is composed of 8 researchers, 15 teacher-researchers, 15 ITA staff and around 30 doctoral and post-doctoral students. The laboratory comprises three buildings located on the CNRS campus in Orléans-la-Source.

Training in combustion experimentation and modelling, as well as in the study of reactive flows (flames), is an advantage for this position.
