Missions
At the CNRS, in the ICARE UPR3021 laboratory, located on the CNRS campus in Orléans, the candidate will be tasked with carrying out numerical and experimental work on low-temperature hydrogen combustion. In particular, the aim is to investigate the impact of low temperatures on the flammability range and on the fundamental properties of premixed flames.
Activités
The project has two components:
- determining the flammability range of hydrogen at low temperatures;
- determining the fundamental properties of H2/air premix flames at low temperatures.
The candidate will have to carry out combustion experiments in the installations of the ICARE laboratory's Shock Wave team and use combustion parameter calculation codes (COSILAB, CANTERA, CHEMKIN). He/she will be responsible for adapting the installations to low temperatures.
Compétences
The candidate must have :
- A PhD in Combustion or Energetics or Chemistry-Physics of reactive systems.
- Solid knowledge of combustion, and/or energetics, and/or chemical kinetics of combustion, and/or reactive fluid mechanics
- Solid knowledge of chemical kinetic modelling
- Skills in scientific numerical tools desirable: Matlab, Python, Labview
- Skills in numerical tools for combustion desirable: Chemkin, Cantera, Cosilab
- Language skills: fluent English (the Shockwave team is international)
- Ability to work in a team on multidisciplinary projects.
- Writing skills: summary reports, publications in international journals and at international conferences.
Contexte de travail
The research work will be carried out as part of an international CONCERT project in collaboration with various JAPAN partners (Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, Kwansei Gakuin University, IRSN, CNRS-ICARE). The research work will be carried out at the ICARE laboratory, a CNRS unit in Orléans, in the Shock Wave team. Experimental facilities dedicated to the study of flame propagation. They are coupled to a number of diagnostics: fast pressure sensors, gas phase micro-chromatograph, fast imaging system, fast particle image velocimetry system. The aim is to adapt the installations to low temperatures.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
Short trips in France and abroad (Germany, Japan) for progress meetings. - Travel abroad to present work at international conferences.
