Job Description

Missions

The mission will involve fabricating superconducting-semiconductor-superconducting test structures in a cleanroom, using planar layers developed at the Néel Institute. The fabrication process will utilize electron beam lithography and wet etching. Characterization tests will be conducted on low-temperature transport measurement equipment at the Magnetometry Platform at the Néel Institute. The mission will also include structural characterization campaigns using TEM to correlate the electronic and structural properties of the devices. The hosting team is the Nanophysics and Semiconductors team at the Néel Institute.

Activity

-Cleanroom fabrication of electronic components from superconducting-semiconductor planar layers
-Low-temperature electronic measurements of the components
-TEM observation lamellae fabrication using FIB
-Participation in structural characterizations via transmission electron microscopy
-Analysis of experimental data and writing of reports and scientific publications

Your Profil

Skills

-PhD in Physics
-Expertise in nanofabrication
-Expertise in low-temperature measurements
-Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
-Teamwork skills

Your Work Environment

Institut NÉEL is a CNRS unit (UPR 2940) under agreement with the University Grenoble Alpes. The laboratory is related to the CNRS Physique. It is located in Grenoble, in the heart of a unique scientific, industrial and cultural environment. It is one of the largest French national research institutes for fundamental research in condensed matter physics enriched by interdisciplinary activities at the interfaces with chemistry, engineering and biology. It consists of 450 employees, including 175 researchers.
CNRS is a public, scientific and technological organization.
The core mandate is to identify, to carry out or to have carried out, either alone or with partners, all research that advances science or contributes to the country's economic, social, and cultural progress. Internationally recognized for the excellence of its scientific research, the CNRS is a reference in the world of research and development, as well as for the general public.

Today, an important research effort at the Néel Institute consists in advancing the understanding and development of quantum devices based on superconducting-semiconducting structures. They are key building blocks for next-generation quantum devices and low-temperature electronics. Among the teams involved in this research, the Nanophysique et Semiconducteurs team at the Néel Institute develops epitaxial planar interfaces that combine superconductors and semiconductors in the framework of the PEPR Techno Qauntique project QUANTIN. The outcomes could contribute to breakthroughs in quantum technologies and materials science.

The hosting team at Institut Néel is NPSC - Nanophysique et Semiconducteurs
