Job Description
Missions
Nanomaterials are promising for innovative applications, including nanoelectronics. Still, their integration remains challenging. Conventional lithography can be detrimental due to polymer residues. Thorough cleaning or encapsulation are used to prevent nanomaterials degradation. We propose a microfabrication dry or water-based process based on a stencil mask. We have made preliminar tests on alternative polymers to photoresists, the performances of which will be further investigated by optical/electronic characterizations. In particular, resolution limits and re-alignment will be quantified up to 2” wafers. This project is valorisation-oriented.
The candidate will be in charge of the implementation of the process in the clean room facility, and its optimization in terms of resolution. Most of the activity will take place in the clean room to perform stencil fabrication, laser/electron beam lithography, deposition and etching steps. He will setup a dedicated aligner with support from the ExpE pole and analyse quantitatively the overall process performances. He will participate actively to strategic discussions with external collaborators.
Activity
• Propose and test new protocols, characterize the results
• Design and setup a dedicated aligner
• Participate to meetings with external collaborators
• Interact with local technical staff
• Perform technology watch
Your Profil
Skills
• Deep skills in clean room fabrication: laser lithography, e-beam lithography, and related techniques
• Deep knowledge in surface treatments: plasma and ICP etching, wet etching
• Deep knowledge in 2D materials integration as van der Waals heterostructures
• Mastering physico-chemical properties of matter, and polymers in particular
• Skills in microscopy: optical, AFM, SEM
• Easy with multi-task work
• Broad technological culture
• Will to pursue towards industry
Your Work Environment
Institut NÉEL is a CNRS unit (UPR 2940) under agreement with the University Grenoble Alpes. The laboratory is related to the CNRS Physique. It is located in Grenoble, in the heart of a unique scientific, industrial and cultural environment. It is one of the largest French national research institutes for fundamental research in condensed matter physics enriched by interdisciplinary activities at the interfaces with chemistry, engineering and biology. It consists of 450 employees, including 175 researchers.
CNRS is a public, scientific and technological organization.
The core mandate is to identify, to carry out or to have carried out, either alone or with partners, all research that advances science or contributes to the country's economic, social, and cultural progress. Internationally recognized for the excellence of its scientific research, the CNRS is a reference in the world of research and development, as well as for the general public.
The candidate will be part of the Institut Néel, inside the team :2D Quantum states with tunable interactions – Quan2m.
He will interact with the Quan2m team, the Epitaxy and Nanofab technical staff too.
