Missions
The aim of the project is to conduct X-ray absorption and spectral ptychography experiments in order to investigate, at different structural scales, the role of organic carbon in the transport and precipitation of metals under hydrothermal conditions. The researcher will benefit from strong support and collaboration from scientists at the Néel Institute and the CRG FAME team at ESRF. This project is being carried out in part in collaboration with GET in Toulouse.
Activités
- Conduct HP-HT experiments in an X-ray absorption spectroscopy autoclave and Ptychography stectral
- Use experimental data from various experiments
- Interpret experiment results
- Ensure the dissemination and promotion of results in the form of technical reports, publications, and oral presentations.
Compétences
- Strong knowledge of materials physics and chemistry, particularly X-ray spectroscopy applied to Earth sciences.
- Strong knowledge of materials characterization.
- Experimental experience in HP-HT.
- Experience in the field of hydrothermal fluids.
- Experience in project management.
- Ability to collaborate with other laboratories in the field for the purposes of expertise.
- English language: level B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): use of technical English in writing and speaking.
Contexte de travail
-The postdoctoral researcher will be assigned to the Institut Néel, a CNRS laboratory conducting fundamental research in condensed matter physics, related to CNRS Physique, in association with the University of Grenoble-Alpes. Approximately 450 people work there. Located in Grenoble, in the heart of the Alps, the laboratory is situated in a rich international scientific environment, home to major research institutes and technology companies. On a daily basis, he/she will work directly within the team in charge of the national FAME and FAME-UHD beamlines located at the ESRF scientific polygon, which has recently developed particularly high-performance instruments, notably in the field of speciation, which are in high demand by users from French and international laboratories. This team is composed of a research director, a research fellow, three research engineers, and two assistant engineers, not to mention the occasional “local contact” researchers from Grenoble laboratories. The researcher will report to the manager of the two beamlines.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
