Post-doctoral position of 12 months, starting in November 2020. LabEx CHARMMAT funding. The candidate will be integrated in a collaborative research program between two research teams :
- ICSN (Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles - Gif-sur-Yvette) and
- ICMMO (Institut de Chimie Moléculaire et des Matériaux d'Orsay)


The research program focuses on the synthesis and use of new bifunctional catalysts in asymmetric catalysis. These catalysts will be composed by a functionality with Bronsted acidic properties and a second moiety able to form an organometallic complex with a metal with pi-acidic properties. These catalysts will be used to develop a new catalytic sequence, in catalytic relay process mode, and applied to the formation of chiral spiroacetal enol ethers, which are basic structures for a wide range of bioactive compounds and/or natural products.


Qualification: Ph.D. in organic chemistry, with strong training records in the fields of organic synthesis including in modern tools of organic chemistry and asymmetric catalysis (organocatalysis or organometallic catalysis).

Work Context

This collaborative project will be carried out in the Department of Organic Synthesis and Catalytic Methods of ICSN and in the Molecular Catalysis Team of ICMMO. The Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles (ICSN) is a research unit of the CNRS (UPR2301) which benefits from an international recognition in organic and medicinal chemistry since several decades. The ICSN develops activities ranging from the discovery of new natural substances, to the research of their mechanisms of action through the synthesis of these molecules and the development of new methodologies in organic synthesis.
