Job Description
Missions
-A postdoctoral research position in organic chemistry is available within the framework of the ANR AAPG 2024 project. The project aims to develop new strategies for controlling the enantioselectivity of reactions involving molecular rearrangements. To achieve this objective, various approaches based on organic catalysis and photoredox photocatalysis will be explored. The successful candidate will participate in the development of new synthetic methodologies, the study of associated reaction mechanisms, and the optimization of reaction conditions.
Activity
The researcher will contribute to the development of new synthetic methodologies based on photocatalysis and/or asymmetric organic catalysis. They will be responsible for designing and implementing new photo-induced transformations, as well as for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of the target molecules. The researcher will also conduct mechanistic studies to understand the factors governing the reactivity and selectivity of the developed transformations. This work will rely in particular on the use of spectroscopic, electrochemical, and photophysical techniques. Furthermore, the researcher will participate in the analysis and interpretation of the results obtained, the writing of scientific publications and progress reports, and the presentation of the work at project meetings and national or international conferences. Finally, they will contribute to the scientific activities of the team and may be asked to supervise interns and doctoral students
Your Profil
Skills
PhD in Organic Chemistry; in-depth knowledge of organic synthesis; expertise in enantioselective catalysis is a plus. • Strong motivation: scientific curiosity, technical rigor, creativity. • Good interpersonal skills: teamwork, cross-functional communication. • Fluency in French or English
Your Work Environment
-This project is part of a collaborative ANR (French National Research Agency) project between ICSN and Sorbonne University. The work will primarily take place at ICSN (http://www.icsn.cnrs-gif.fr), a CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) research unit specializing in chemistry and biology, and part of the Université Paris-Saclay. The researcher may occasionally be required to travel to Paris (Sorbonne University) to interact with ANR partners. This position falls within the scope of the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST) and therefore requires, in accordance with regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the relevant authority within the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESR)
