Missions

The Project Manager will implement the training and scientific research ambitions of the HiFunMat ITI by ensuring the operational coordination and the administrative and financial steering of the project with the ITI Coordinator and in support of the ITI governance bodies. He/she will garanty the correct application of the ITI charter, in all its dimensions.
He/she will carry out a wide variety of missions relating to both training (contact with foreign students, communication support, contact and facilitator of the Master's program, monitoring of expenses) and research (project support, steering and communication assistance, financial monitoring).

Activities

* Implementation and operational follow-up (in conjunction with the project management team)
- To coordinate, implement and monitor the project's master plan in conjunction with the management team, and in particular in the context of the ITI Executive Committee.
- Mobilizing and coordinating the means necessary to achieve the project's objectives, particularly in the context of i) training activities (Graduate School training offer) and student recruitment, in coordination with the components and doctoral schools), ii) research activities and scientific events (workshops, conferences).
- Control and manage the planning of operations (project follow-up, framing, planning and follow-up of the actions of the various committees).
- Consolidate research and training indicators in databases.
- Elaborate, feed and maintain the reference documentation of the project (updates of the website, the internal rules, the charter, the communication vademecum).

* Administrative management (with the support of the support services of the attachment structure and in connection with the central services of the University)
- Control the application of administrative rules and procedures (registration and results of students in the Graduate School and in additional courses, recording of intervention hours and payment of speakers, participation in ITI programming meetings).

* Financial management (with the support of the support services of the reporting structure and in liaison with the central services of the University)
- Establish the initial budget for the 2023 calendar year.
- Monitor budget tracking, allocation and execution.
- Track and analyze expenses.
- Consolidate and formalize expense reports/balances.

* Animation (with the project consortium)
- Develop and monitor the calendar of meetings and events.
- Prepare agendas, prepare meeting materials, minutes, action lists and ensure their dissemination to the relevant actors.
- Participate in the animation of the executive committee, the Egal'ITI committee and work in support of the steering committee.
- Articulate and facilitate exchanges between the different actors of the project.
- Maintain project management tools: exchange and collaboration platform (ERNEST), mailing lists in particular.
- Assisting and advising his/her hierarchy and representing them with internal and external partners.


* Communication and dissemination (with the support of the communication correspondents of the reporting structure and in connection with the communication department of the University).
- Participate in ITI communication managers' meetings.
- Implement internal and external communication actions.
- Participate in the dissemination of results.
- Respond to surveys, audits and evaluations on the organization, production and means of the project.

* Knowledge :
- Expertise in the organization and operation of higher education, research and public innovation
- Mastery of complex project management methodology
- Knowledge in general budgeting and financial management
- Proven experience in management and communication techniques
- English language: B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Knowledge of training and digital policies in higher education would be an advantage.

Work Context

The ITI Hierarchical and Functional Materials (HiFunMat), which starts operational on January 1, 2021, wishes to respond to a strong demand from the industrial world for people with a solid background in materials science by offering an adapted and interdisciplinary training to grasp all the dimensions of innovation and valorisation, which is essential to meet future social challenges (energy, environment, health). This expertise comes from a consortium of 9 laboratories located on the Cronenbourg Campus in Strasbourg and the campus of the University of Haute Alsace in Mulhouse, involving about 200 researchers. An adapted training program and a technology transfer unit (Institut Carnot MICA) are supported by this consortium and will allow and/or facilitate the development of new materials, devices and applications useful to society.

The Graduate School responds to a strong demand from the industrial world for people with a solid background in materials science by offering an adapted and interdisciplinary training to apprehend all dimensions of materials development, innovation and valorization, which is essential to meet social challenges (energy transition, climate change, reduction of our impact on the environment, global health, bioengineering, ...).

The Project Manager will have an extremely important role at the interface between researchers and students. He/she will carry out a wide range of tasks related to both training (contact with foreign students, communication support, contact and facilitation of the Master's program, monitoring of expenses) and research (project support, steering and communication assistance, financial monitoring).

The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
