Post-doctoral researcher (M/F), 12-month fixed-term contract to improve and use new human cellular models to model the propagation and multiplication of α-Synclein strains.
These strains will be studied in neuro-glial networks derived from human pluripotent stem cells. Our main objective is to better understand the intrinsic and cell type or network-dependent properties of α-Synclein strains characteristic of different synucleinopathies.
The project will combine a wide range of cell biology approaches with imaging analyses. The candidate will be ask to:
-Produce different types of neurons and glial cells from human wt iPS lines (amplification, quality control, banking)
- Analyze the propagation and amplification of α-Synkein strain in these cells
- Analyze different cell phenotypes, including the synaptic activity of cells treated with different strains.
- Edit the genome of human iPS cells using CRISPR-Cas9 technology
- Analyze and communicate the results produced
- Write scientific articles.
The candidate must hold a PhD in neuroscience.
She/he must be able to demonstrate established competence in the culture and neuronal differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells and in genome editing using Crispr-Cas9 technology.
He/she will have to be motivated by biomedical research, autonomous, rigorous and able to work in a team.
He/she should also have a strong background in neurobiology, cell biology and/or central nervous system biology.
The program is part of a long-standing effort to establish cellular models of neurodegenerative pathologies using human pluripotent stem cells.
The present project focuses on the cellular modeling of synucleinopathies. The team that the applicant will join is co-led by Dr. Anselme Perrier. The theme of the team is "Cell-Cell interactions in neurodegenerative diseases: Models and Biotherapies". The team is part of the CEA/CNRS/Univ Paris Saclay UMR9199 unit headed by Dr Gilles Bonvento in the MIRcen department headed by Dr Philippe Hantraye at the CEA center of Fontenay-aux-Roses.
