Missions

As part of a collaborative research project on the effects of environmental pollution on the mouse brain, we are particularly studying in our team the behavioral and imaging aspects.
The researcher will participate in the analyzes of behavioral data already obtained and will conduct new experiments (social behavior, decision task, etc.) in mice previously exposed to polluted atmospheres. The recruited candidate will participate in the molecular and histological analyzes carried out on the brains. He/she will participate in functional brain imaging experiments in mice and will take charge of the analyzes of these data in which he/she will be trained if necessary.

Activities

- video and audio data analysis of social behaviors
- support for the development and conduction of gambling experience in automated devices
- histological and molecular analyzes
- conduct of functional brain imaging experiments (fMRI) and data analysis

Skills

-Knowledge of animal (rodent) behavior and data analysis in this area, including statistical analysis, required.
- Prior expertise in molecular and histological analyzes is required.
- Knowledge of MRI data analysis is not necessary, but an interest in being trained in it is essential.
- Programming basics (python, matlab) are a plus.
- Fluency in French and English (oral and written) required

- Teamwork, written communication, organization, independence

Work Context

The building of the Paris-Saclay Institute of Neurosciences -Neuro-PSI- is located on the CEA site in Saclay, next to the NeuroSpin brain imaging institute. Behavioral experiments will take place at Neuro-PSI and imaging experiments at NeuroSpin.
Neuro-PSI includes 21 research teams, platforms and technical services allowing the study of brain function in several animal models at all levels. The postdoctoral researcher will work in the team led by Sylvie Granon, Neurobiology of decision-making (https://neuropsi.cnrs.fr/departements/cnn/equipe-sylvie-granon/). This team includes 2 university teacher-researchers, 2 CNRS researchers, an emeritus CNRS researcher and 3 PhD students (3rd, 2nd and 1st year).
Access to the CEA site is served by a bus service from the RER the counter and Massy. Nevertheless, the transport time from Paris requires several changes and is around 1h20 minutes, around 40 minutes by car depending on traffic.
