Job Description
Missions
We are looking for a passionate postdoctoral researcher to carry out a project on the neural bases of movements in mice.
Activity
The main activities focus on piloting a research project aimed at studying the organization of motor pathways in the mouse brain, including:
- Experimental activities:Optogenetic manipulations in freely moving mice
- Data analysis:Kinematic analysis of movement via video tracking
- Mapping of neuronal connectivity
- Molecular profiling of gene expression
- Project management activities:Coordination of the project
- Presentation and dissemination of results in the form of seminars and articles
- Supervision:Supervision of interns (Master's, thesis)
Your Profil
Skills
Conceptual:
- Doctoral thesis focused on the nervous system.
- Knowledge of neuronal control of movements and brain-trunk organization in the mouse.
Experimental:
- Work on genetically modified mouse lines
- Use of viral vectors for studying neuronal connectivity
- Histology, fluorescence microscopy
- Bioinformatics tools, data processing, and ideal use of Matlab, R, or Python
- Teamwork, critical thinking, teamwork, and solidarity
- Fluency in French or English
Your Work Environment
The candidate will join the Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience, an international research environment bringing together developmental, cognitive, integrative, and computational neuroscience teams. The recruited person will join a team studying neuronal circuits and motor control in mice (team name: neuropsi.cnrs.fr/equipe-julien-bouvier), composed of a research director, a conference lecturer, 2 assistants/engineers, 2 postdoctoral researchers, 2 PhD students, and several students in master's and internship programs.
The project combines in vivo approaches: functional genetics, connectivity/histology/genomic analyses, and behavioral analysis.
Constraints and risks
Risks related to animal experimentation (mice), chemical products (CMR), and biological agents.
