Job Description
Missions
EBRAINS is a digital infrastructure for neuroscience. The successful candidate will contribute to development of the Data and Knowledge services of EBRAINS, with an emphasis on discoverability and reusability of data, computational models, scientific software, and data analysis workflows. The role offers considerable flexibility provided the research advances open science and the FAIR principles in neuroscience and related fields.
Activity
- Development of digital tools (software, web services, metadata schemas) for working with neuroscience data, code and computational models.
- Development of case studies demonstrating the value of using EBRAINS in neuroscience research.
- Investigation of novel applications of AI approaches in neuroscience.
- Publication of the research in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at international conferences.
Your Profil
Skills
- The successful candidate should have a PhD in neuroscience, neuroinformatics, computer science or library science.
- Programming experience is required, preferably including a good knowledge of Python and Javascript, and experience with software development tools such as Git.
- Experience with machine learning / artificial intelligence would be a benefit.
- A good understanding of experimental or computational methods in neuroscience would be preferred.
- A good level of English (B2, C1, C2) is essential for communicating with our colleagues from other European countries.
Your Work Environment
The Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience (https://neuropsi.cnrs.fr) is a research laboratory of the CNRS and Université Paris-Saclay, located in Saclay, about 20 km from central Paris. The Neuroinformatics team develops innovative computational tools and approaches for data sharing, modelling and simulation in neuroscience, as well as brain-inspired computing. This position is funded by the European Commission as part of EBRAINS, a digital infrastructure for neuroscience and brain-related research in medicine and computing. The contract runs until the end of 2026. It may be renewed depending on performance and funding availability.
