Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development and optimization of a nanoscale ion implantation experimental setup based on the laser ionization of neutral atoms coupled to a focused ion beam (FIB). The researcher will participate in the design, implementation, and performance characterization of the system.
Activity
Experimental development of an ion source based on laser ablation and selective laser ionization
Coupling and optimization of the source with a focused ion beam (FIB)
Beam characterization (energy, spatial resolution, stability)
Analysis and interpretation of experimental data
Preparation of scientific publications and conference presentations
Interaction with the project's academic and industrial partners
Your Profil
Skills
PhD in experimental physics (atomic physics, optics, lasers, ion beams, or related fields)
Strong experimental instrumentation skills
Experience in laser optics and/or plasma physics or charged-particle beams would be an advantage
Ability to work independently, scientific rigor, and good teamwork skills
Good command of scientific English
Your Work Environment
The position is based at the Laboratoire Aimé Cotton (CNRS – Université Paris-Saclay), within a team specializing in experimental atomic physics and advanced instrumentation. The project is conducted in a collaborative research environment.
