Activities

Chromosome replication is a vital process for copying and passing on genetic information during cell divisions. It involves more than just DNA replication. Along with DNA synthesis, eukaryotic DNA replication forks involve a complex network of mechanisms required for maintaining genome integrity and preserving chromatin structure, sustaining genomic functions, and inheriting epigenetic information contained in chromatin. The project focuses on the interplay and mechanisms controlling DNA methylation maintenance in the context of DNA replication. The research models are cultured human cell lines and mouse embryonic stem cells.

Skills

We seek a candidate with a Ph.D. or equivalent in biochemistry, genetics, epigenetics, genomics, or computational biology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation and expertise in bioinformatics, epigenetics, or functional genomics. They should be enthusiastic about developing new technologies and collaborating closely with computational scientists. A proven track record in these fields is expected.

Work Context

The lab belongs to the Unit of Genome Integrity and Cancers (UMR9019) at Gustave Roussy Institute. Gustave Roussy is the leading cancer center in Europe and brings together cutting-edge basic research, clinical science, and technological innovations.
