Missions

Investigation into the constraints, opportunities and effectiveness of methods for quantifying the environmental impacts of AI

Activities

The following activities are expected: - conduct between 10 and 20 semi-structured interviews on the ecosystem of French and international players operating in this field - analyze case studies - read, analyze and draw on the literature on the sociology of quantification, and environmental law studies on similar subjects.

Knowledge of how generative artificial intelligence works Thesis in sociology or STS

Work Context

The person recruited will be based at the LISN, an interdisciplinary laboratory, within a team comprising several members working on the environmental impact of ICT. He or she will also work with the ENS AI Observatory.

The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
