Missions
The post-doctoral researcher will participate in the ERC Advanced Grant research project NoStaHo which is aimed at an extensively transformative fundamental understanding and theory of non-stationary and/or non-homogeneous turbulence.
Activities
She/he will participate in the setting up of the numerical side of the project by contributing to (i) Direct Numerical Simulations and (ii) various ways to analyse the data obtained for a variety of turbulent flows including various types of turbulent wakes, jets and boundary layers. The candidate will (a) participate in the design and implementation of the simulations, (b) manage the organization and use of the codes, (c) assist other members of the group in their use, (d) perform autonomously the quantitative analysis of the data, (e) present the results obtained, (f) participate in the writing of manuscripts for the publication of the results
Skills
We are looking for a fluid dynamics specialist with a PhD in a turbulence-related field, an expertise in high-fidelity simulation of turbulent flows and data analysis techniques. The candidate will ideally have experience in high performance computing (HPC) and direct numerical simulation (DNS) of flows.
Work Context
The post-doctoral research will be a member of the turbulence group of the LMFL and of the NoStaHo research team. She/he will be supported by the experimental, computational and theoretical experts of the group.
