Within the framework of the European project EURAD and the WP MAGIC, the person recruited will be in charge of carrying out part of the work defined in task 4 concerning the numerical modeling of cementitious materials.


The development of a numerical method based on machine learning techniques (ANN, CNN) for modeling the mechanical behavior of cementitious materials, taking into account the micro-structural properties and their evolution.


A very good knowledge of machine-learning techniques, in particular of ANN and CNN models, a good theoretical basis of homogenization methods for heterogeneous materials

Work Context

The work will be carried out at the LaMcube Laboratory.
The LaMcube is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 9013 since 2020) between the CNRS, the University of Lille and Centrale Lille, bringing together teacher-researchers and researchers in mechanics and civil engineering. This unit was created in January 2018.
The ambition of LaMcube is to create a continuum from the elaboration of materials to the description of systems under stress, through the consideration of the evolution of materials and structures with these stresses. The consideration of the relevant scales with respect to the considered applications is an essential point of our activities.
More precisely, the person recruited will work in the Geomaterials Mechanics team (GEOM) under the responsibility of Jianfu Shao and Jean-Baptiste Colliat.
