Job Description
Missions
As part of Work Package 4 of the INSIDE 3D project, the recruited engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing metal additive manufacturing processes (titanium) for the production of innovative medical devices (implants, customized structures).
Activity
Develop feedstocks aligned with the project objectives (design of metal-filled filaments such as stainless steel 316L, Ti-6Al-4V titanium, etc.).
Study and optimize printing parameters for the use of filled filaments and pellets.
Develop debinding and sintering processes for printed parts.
Perform mechanical and chemical characterization of printed materials.
Supervise internships or student projects related to the INSIDE 3D project.
Design simple medical devices and contribute to their technical validation.
Participate in steering and advisory committees of the INSIDE 3D project.
Write scientific reports for Work Package 4.
Your Profil
Skills
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge in mechanics, materials science, electronics, and biomedical engineering
Proficiency in multi-material FDM and SLA 3D printing
Good command of mechanical design tools (CAD, modeling)
Good level of scientific and technical English
Written and oral presentation skills
Operational Skills / Technical Expertise:
Ability to develop and implement experimental protocols
Writing scientific and technical reports
Contribution to the valorization and dissemination of project results
Proficiency in project management and technical monitoring tools (planning, deliverables, reporting)
Interpersonal Skills / Soft Skills:
Analytical mindset, scientific rigor, and autonomy
Adaptability and creativity in solving technical problems
Strong sense of innovation and scientific communication
Team spirit and ability to collaborate in an international environment

Your Work Environment
The position is based in Villeneuve d'Ascq. Activities are carried out on the PIMS platform, located on the Centrale Lille campus. Meeting rooms, offices, the cafeteria, and the university restaurant are also available on this site. Remote work is possible.
