Missions

A post-doc position in the Non-coding RNA, epigenetics and genome stability group is available. Our laboratory is mainly interested in dissecting the mechanism involved in transposable element regulation. In gonads, we have demonstrated that the the piRNA pathway is required. The mechanism involved in their repression in somatic tissue is still elusive.

Activities

Technically, the candidate will perform standard molecular approaches and will have to perform Drosophila genetics The candidate will perform bioinformatics analyses.

Skills

The applicants should hold a PhD and a strong background in molecular biology and in Drosophila genetics. Knowledge in bioinformatics and fluency in English also are required.

Work Context

A post-doc position is available in the Non-coding RNA, epigenetics and genome stability group at the Institute of Human Genetics in Montpellier. Our laboratory is mainly interested in understanding the molecular mechanism involved in transposable element repression in the Drosophila model.
