Missions
A Research Engineer or Postdoctoral Researcher position is immediately available at the Institute of Human Genetics in the "DNA Replication and Genome Dynamics" Team (Marcel Méchali). The duration of the contract is 24 months (12 months renewable).
Activités
In recent years, our laboratory has determined the genetic and epigenetic characteristics that allow the recognition and organization of replication origins in our DNA. Our team wishes to assess the influence of the 3D structure of the genome on DNA replication to enable new therapeutic approaches.
The successful candidate will develop a project addressing the role of epigenetic regulation, nuclear structures, and the 3D chromosome structure in the initiation of DNA replication.

The candidate should have strong expertise in nuclear metabolism and the 3D genome and be able to master the corresponding experimental methods.
Motivation, enthusiasm, and creativity, as well as excellent communication skills, are desired.
Contexte de travail
The IGH is a modern CNRS-University of Montpellier Institute, located on the Montpellier university and hospital campus. The IGH generates a stimulating and international research environment with a high-quality and intensive scientific life, weekly internal and external seminars, and frequent symposia. The usual working language is English. The IGH receives financial support from several national institutions and international grants, with 12 ERC grants in the field of genome and epigenome.
Montpellier is one of France's liveliest cities, close to the sea and the mountains. It is a city with a very high concentration of researchers, particularly in the genetic and epigenetic structure of chromosomes and nuclear metabolism. It is well connected to Paris and other European cities.
